AceShowbiz - Matty Healy has backed down on his threat against Azealia Banks. The rocker has raised a white flag after apparently threatening to slap the raptress/singer over her disparaging remarks about his friend and fellow artist Charli XCX.

Matty and Azealia engaged in a heated exchange on X, formerly known as Twitter, after the "212" femcee criticized Charli's appearance. "Charli used to be soooo pretty," she wrote on Tuesday, December 3. "Ugh. Boaaa, I swear them Weho gays be having the girls questioning themselves meanwhile they all scraping k off a cookie sheet, eating cold bossanova and sharing panties. Tuh."

Defending Charli, who is engaged to his bandmate George Daniel, The 1975 frontman responded, "Azealia you seem to have a blind spot when it comes to your 'reads'. All the women you attack seem to be culturally relevant, attractive, divisive and NICE people. I think this makes you jealous cos you're so talented but everything else about you is a failure. Just rap bro."

Azealia insisted, "Hmmmm. That wasn't a read. I've known Charli since she was 16 and always thought she was absolutely gorgeous but there's a stark contrast between this and this." She went on mocking Matty, "Also, I still don't know any of your music but make sure you keep all that s**t behind your keyboard. This is hiphop n***a, and you are very easy to set up. A bad bag, a bad pill. It only costs $200 and an ounce of weed to do you. And the three little n***as will SPLIT IT."

Matty clapped back, "And on that point if I see one little s**t bag twitter barista say ONE thing about my Gabi, EVER, I will use my mental illness to full affect and I will dox and f**k you up I'm so over pretending to have different standards online coz it's 'not real'. Well, a f**kin slap is."

Doubling down on her opinions about Charli, Azealia said, "The b***t look like Frankenstein to me. You both look like you share needless. Lmao." She added, "What type pf p***y a** n***a goes online and incriminates himself this way? Lmfao a man could slap the s**t out of Gabi and you wouldn't do a damn thing. You're too busy kissing men on stage for clout."

The English singer/songwriter then launched an apparent violent threat, penning, "Azealia I know you think your life is some episode of the library is open but I am not the one. Talk to me like that I'm not gonna side eye you at an awards do I'll f**king slap you so hard I'll get a Guiness world record for the highest a rat some b***h calls a wig has ever flown."

Azealia challenged him, replying, "Yes. Pay Me." However, Matty has since backpedaled on his threat. "Nah I can't be saying I'm gonna hit a girl that's insane I'm sorry. You just can't keep being so mean about my mates and my mrs it's really hurtful gets me well defensive," he wrote again. "Nah fr I was just trying to match your vibe im scared now im sorry bro, I was just sticking up for my mates. Im not tough lol."
