AceShowbiz - With the ongoing legal drama involving Kendrick Lamar and Drake, it's been reported that the National Football League has been thinking of replacement options for Kendrick at the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime show. Their choice allegedly falls to none other than Lil Wayne.
Sources close to Drake claim to Media Take Out that NFL reached out to Lil Wayne's team. They're reportedly discussing the possibility of Weezy replacing Kendrick at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.
It's said that NFL is in shambles after Drake's lawyers sent a cease and desist to the organizations, warning them to stop Kendrick from defaming him during the halftime show. A NFL source admits that its legal team is in utter chaos.
The insider additionally revealed that NFL has been looking at "contingency plans" to get the "Not Like Us" hitmaker replaced amid the lawsuit. The source, however, refuses to confirm whether Lil Wayne or any other artist would be tapped as Kendrick's replacement.
It was recently reported that Drake was "concerned Kendrick will perform 'Not Like Us' at the Super Bowl." A source divulged, "Universal bosses are shocked that Drake is suing them, and some people suspect the lawsuit is an attempt to stop Kendrick from performing 'Not Like Us' at the event."
A second insider, meanwhile, claimed that Kendrick was frustrated by people assuming that his Super Bowl performance would be focused on Drake. The source suggested, "People are trying to pigeonhole Kendrick into making his Super Bowl performance all about Drake."
The source continued, "He has toyed with a few surprises including asking Drake and Lil Wayne to be a part of it. But he is starting to rethink that and just make the performance something for him and him only. He believes he deserves it and he doesn't need to offer an olive branch to anyone."
