The model and TV personality provides an update on current condition of Miles, her and John Legend's 6-year-old son, and her plans to raise awareness about the disease.

AceShowbiz - Chrissy Teigen took to Instagram to share a photo of her children, including 6-year-old Miles, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in July. In response to a request from a follower to share more about the condition, Teigen replied that she planned to do so in the future. She stated that she and her husband, John Legend, were still learning about Miles' illness but planned to use their platform to raise awareness.

Teigen and Legend announced Miles' diagnosis in a social media post in July. At the time, they said that Miles had fallen ill while at summer camp and was taken to the emergency room. Tests revealed that he had Type 1 diabetes, a chronic condition where the pancreas produces little or no insulin, a hormone that helps blood sugar enter cells for energy.

According to Teigen, Miles is in the early stages of his diagnosis and they are still learning how to manage his condition. She emphasized the importance of being aware of the disease and its impact on individuals who have it.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that typically appears during adolescence but can be diagnosed at any age. Those managing it must regulate their blood sugar levels through insulin injections and a strict diet. The condition has no cure.

Teigen stated that her son's diagnosis has been a life-changing experience for her family but that they are optimistic about the future. She expressed gratitude for the support they have received and emphasized the importance of sharing information about Type 1 diabetes to help others who may be facing similar challenges.
