AceShowbiz - New details about Wendy Williams amid her health issues have emerged online. In new court documents, the former daytime TV host's legal guardian Sabrina Morrisey claimed that she's "permanently incapacitated" from her "tragic" dementia battle.
The documents saw Sabrina elaborating Wendy's current health situation. She noted that Wendy, "an acclaimed entertainer who, tragically, has been afflicted by early-onset dementia and, as a result, has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated."
The filing added, "In January 2022, after becoming aware of a pattern of disturbing events concerning [Wendy's] welfare and finances, Wells Fargo took the highly unusual step of initiating a guardianship proceeding on its own initiative in the Supreme Court of New York, New York County (the 'Guardianship Proceeding'), to seek the court appointment of an independent guardian for [Wendy's] financial affairs." The guardian additionally pleaded the court for certain portions of the case about Wendy's "health, familial relationships, and finances" to be redacted to protect her privacy.
"We respectfully request that the Court grant Plaintiff's motion for limited redactions to protect non-public information from the Guardianship Proceeding that has been placed under seal by the court overseeing that proceeding," the papers continued.
Meanwhile, a previous report suggested that Wendy's son Kevin Hunter Jr. might become her legal guardian. The report claimed that Wendy's ex-husband Kevin Hunter asked a New Jersey divorce court to remove her current guardian Sabrina from their divorce hearings.
Kevin Sr. insisted that Sabrina was not legally allowed to represent the star in the Garden State. He alleged that Sabrina, who was appointed by a New York court to be Wendy's guardian, "committed fraud upon the court by falsely representing she is permitted to appear on [Wendy's] behalf" in their New Jersey divorce case.
He also said that Sabrina "intentionally and willfully misled this court by asserting on multiple occasions that she is permitted to represent Ms. Wendy Williams Hunter as her legal guardian."
A source, meanwhile, claimed to The U.S. Sun that Wendy's son Kevin Jr. might be able to step in and take over his ailing mom's care. "There is now a huge opportunity for Kevin Jr. and the family to make a step forward in Wendy's guardianship," the informant divulged.
