AceShowbiz - The BRIT Awards has officially announced the finalists for their 2025 Rising Star Award. This year's nominees are Elmiene, Good Neighbours and Myles Smith, making it an all-male shortlist. The winner will be revealed on December 5 on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders at 6 P.M. GMT.

The Rising Star Award, formerly known as Critics' Choice, has been a launchpad for major artists since its origin in 2008, with previous winners including Adele, Sam Smith and Florence and the Machine.

Elmiene, a British artist, has been gaining momentum with his unique fusion of R&B, jazz and pop. His recent EP "Anyway I Can", released in October, has received critical acclaim. Elmiene has already performed at Glastonbury and collaborated with numerous big names in the music industry, including Stormzy and Sampha. Reflecting on his nomination, Elmiene expressed, "If I could put the feeling of being nominated into words, I would say it's like being completely satisfied with a meal you bought and then finding out it comes with dessert and a drink. Didn't know it could get any better."

The indie-pop duo Good Neighbours, comprised of Oli Fox and Scott Verrill, has had a banner year, thanks to their viral hit "Home", which boasts over 322 million streams on Spotify. The song has also made an impressive climb on the charts, peaking at No. 26 in the U.K. The duo expressed their excitement by saying, "The BRITs have always been a huge dream for both of us growing up. We started Good Neighbours purely for the fun of it, so to be up for an actual BRIT award at this stage in our career is the biggest honour. Thank you."

Myles Smith, hailing from Luton, has seen remarkable success with his single "Stargazing", which peaked at No. 4 on the U.K. Singles Chart and even reached No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Smith has been performing live since he was 12 years old, and he recently released his second EP "A Minute...". He shared his gratitude by saying, "This recognition feels like a reflection of that journey - the highs, the challenges and the incredible people who’ve supported me along the way. Thank you for seeing me, for listening, and for believing in the music. It means the world."

The BRIT Awards 2025 ceremony will take place on March 1, 2025 at London's O2 Arena, and will be broadcast live on ITV and ITVX. Next year will also see the introduction of a new trophy design by Gabriel Moses, continuing the event's tradition of innovation and celebration of musical excellence. With these three talented artists leading the charge, the future of British music looks incredibly bright.
