AceShowbiz - Charli XCX has found herself in hot water due to her recent live performance. After taking the stage on "Saturday Night Live", the "Boom Clap" songstress received backlash from many viewers.
On Sunday, November 17, the 32-year-old singer and songwriter was bombarded with criticisms over her live performance of "360", which was released on May 10, on the show. Making use of YouTube, one critic blasted her over the choice of song, "This is definitely not a song for the SNL stage."
The critic went on to write, "And for people are saying her vocals suck, it's just the style of the song. She has plenty of songs that prove she can sing, but 360 is a fun song, and their are other strong and emotional on brat and her previous albums."
Meanwhile, another critic blamed her vocals, writing, "Bro what. 360 sounds good usually. Her vocals just weren't it today for some reason." Another argued, "the music was too quite, she had to hold back so it got shaky, maybe a bit more effect on her voice would also made it better but her singing was fine." A third suggested, "i think the vocals were just mixed super wrong with the wrong autotune setting for what shes doing."
A fifth, in the meantime, defended Charli against those saying that she is "talentless." The viewer penned, "saying talentless is kinda crazy, its okay if you dont like it but dont try to discredit her her work or the people that enjoy it rather that be ppl that like it because its absurd or dumb to those who genuinely enjoy the instrumental can take in the messages some of the songs have."
On the show, Charli, who also delivered "Sympathy is a Knife", stepped on the stage with a "Brat"-themed set. From the beginning to the end of the performance, she was on the stage alone without any backup dancers or singers accompanying her. As a result, she made sure to use the stage as much as she could, moving from one corner to the other.
