A feature film and document centering on the iconic RnB group Boyz II Men are being developed to delve deep into the untold story behind the voices that defined a generation.

AceShowbiz - Boyz II Men, the legendary R&B group from Philadelphia, are the heart and soul of a new feature film biopic and a corresponding documentary. Best known for their string of hits such as "End of the Road," "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday," "On Bended Knee," "One Sweet Day," and "Motownphilly," the group dominated the '90s music scene and continues to be influential today.

According to Variety, the biopic is being developed by Compelling Pictures and Primary Wave, with the group's Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Wanya Morris serving as executive producers. The development phase is moving quickly, with producers Denis O'Sullivan and Jeff Kalligheri already in early discussions with potential writers and directors.

Production on the documentary is also underway, aiming to provide an in-depth look at Boyz II Men's influence in the 1990s and 2000s as well as their ultimate success across three decades. Both the biopic and documentary will focus on the group's bond, the hurdles they faced, their moments of joy, humor, and heartbreak, offering a complete portrayal of their journey from their explosive rise to enduring legacy.

"We've been waiting to find the right partners who understand our story and are willing to tell it all," Nathan Morris stated on behalf of the group. "Denis and Jeff at Compelling Pictures understood us Day 1."

The story of Boyz II Men is one of remarkable success and resilience. Formed in 1985, the group made their debut in 1991 with the album "Cooleyhighharmony," selling over 60 million albums worldwide to become the bestselling R&B group of all time. The group's recent sold-out, three-night headline performance at the Hollywood Bowl underscores their continued relevance and popularity.

O'Sullivan and Kalligheri expressed their excitement, "Having grown up as huge fans of Boyz II Men, and having spent the past couple of years getting to know the guys and become friends with them, it's a tremendous honor to help bring their unique and untold story to the big screen."

Additional producers on the project include Larry Mestel for Primary Wave, Joe Mulvihill for the Mulvi Group, and Jeremy M. Rosen for Roxwell Films, with executive producers Ori Allon, Dennis Casali, and Steven Garcia also on board.

"Boyz II Men are one of the most influential bands of a generation," said Mestel. "They are one of the few who transcend genre and format. Primary Wave is proud to expand its partnership with the band and look forward to creating a story with Joe, Jeremy, and Compelling that will last forever and reintroduce the band to a new youth culture."

The forthcoming biopic and documentary promise to offer young audiences an inspiring, holistic view of Boyz II Men's career. Don't miss the chance to relive the magic and discover the untold stories behind the voices that have stood the test of time.
