AceShowbiz - Candiace Dillard Bassett, "The Real Housewives of Potomac" alum, has welcomed her first child with her husband, Chris Bassett. On October 3, she gave birth to a son named Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett.
Candiace and Chris underwent IVF to conceive after several years of considering starting a family. She initially had reservations about becoming a mother but eventually embraced the idea, documenting her fertility journey on Bravo's Real Housewives of Potomac.
Jett, whose name means "excellence" and "abundance" in Hebrew, was born weighing 5 lbs. 11 ozs. Candiace expressed her overwhelming joy and amazement at his arrival. "He is just the cutest little thing," she said. "I can't believe he's really here."
The couple chose the name Jett because of its positive meaning. Candiace explained that she wanted a name that reflected the values they hope to instill in their son.
Jett has two middle names, Maxwell and Lee. Maxwell comes from Chris's father's middle name, while Lee is a nod to Candiace's own father.
Candiace said that Jett looks surprisingly like her, despite the common belief that babies favor their fathers. "I was not expecting that!" she exclaimed.
So far, Jett has a calm disposition, much like his father. He is a good sleeper and loves to be held and rocked to sleep.
Now that she has become a mother, Candiace expressed her desire to have more children. She admitted that she regrets waiting so long to have her first, but she is grateful for the journey that led her to this moment.
