AceShowbiz - Michael Strahan reacted with anger when being asked by a reporter for comment on the controversy surrounding his national anthem stance. The incident occurred outside his New York City home on Tuesday, November 12.
"Don't come to my house, man!" Strahan shouted, grabbing the reporter's phone and hurling it into a nearby bush.
Strahan's anger came amid criticism he received after he was seen standing with his arms folded during the national anthem on Fox NFL's broadcast from Naval Base San Diego. While other members of the Fox crew stood with their hands over their hearts, Strahan remained stationary, sparking outrage on social media.
Although Strahan has not directly addressed the controversy, his Fox colleague Jay Glazer defended him, stating that Strahan's military upbringing instilled pride in him and that his actions were not indicative of a protest.
While he remained mum on the controversy, Strahan posted an Instagram tribute to his father, a veteran. "Thank you to all veterans and active service members who courageously risk their lives to protect us every day. Your selfless service is beyond measure," he wrote.
Fox Sports has reportedly stated that Strahan will not face punishment, but he may address the issue at his discretion. Some fans have called for his firing while others have expressed support for him.
