AceShowbiz - In the latest episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County", tensions flared as Emily Simpson and Jennifer Pedranti were engaged in a spat. The drama unfolded during the Season 18 reunion, which aired on November 7.
Jennifer Pedranti, 47, claimed that Simpson's in-laws were financially supporting her and her husband Shane's lifestyle. This accusation came after Simpson, 48, commented on the legal issues surrounding Pedranti's fiance, Ryan Boyajian.
"If my in-laws 'funded our lifestyle' I'd be living WAY larger than I am right now. I'd be on private jets with Heather Dubrow," retorted Simpson on her Instagram Story. "They do not."
Simpson's mother-in-law, Pary Simpson, was previously featured on "RHOC". Her in-laws, who are practicing Mormons, have a significant presence in the family's lives. Emily herself, however, is not a member of the LDS Church.
This isn't the first time that Simpson has faced scrutiny or public discourse about her personal life. Since joining the show in 2018, she has seen both her and Shane's reputation evolve in the eyes of "RHOC" viewers. "Going into the show five years ago, Shane was not a fan of being on the show at all. And he made that very clear to me," Simpson told Us Weekly in July 2023.
Shane's initial reluctance and careful demeanor on the show made him seem unapproachable. "He was very careful about what he said, even though he came across as a big d**k," Simpson admitted. Over time, however, viewers began to understand their dynamic and appreciate Shane's presence on the show. "People are more open to understanding our relationship and our marriage [now], when before, people were very judgmental," she explained.
The latest season has certainly given fans a lot to discuss, and the drama doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Catch more of the unfolding drama on new episodes of "RHOC" Thursday nights on Bravo.
