AceShowbiz - Actor Mark Wahlberg's Las Vegas restaurant, Flecha Cantina, faced an unexpected trial on Wednesday evening, November 6 when a fire broke out on the patio. The blaze, attributed to a faulty fire pit, erupted around 5:30 p.m., drawing swift attention from emergency services.
Videos circulating on social media portrayed a dramatic scene with flames engulfing the outdoor area as emergency service vehicles approached. "The whole front of the building has reflective windows, so it made it look pretty spectacular, but not in a good way," Randy Sharpe, CEO of Wahlburgers, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Fortunately, the fire department quickly brought the situation under control, extinguishing the flames in roughly 20 minutes with no injuries reported.
Despite the dramatic footage, Sharpe reassured the public, stating, "It was very minor. Fortunately, it wasn't worse." The restaurant resumed operations just an hour after the incident, reopening its doors by 7:15 p.m. on the same day.
Flecha Cantina, which opened in Las Vegas at the Town Square shopping center on September 14, is Mark Wahlberg's second location, following the inaugural venue in Huntington Beach, California. The Las Vegas spot aims to provide an elevated dining experience with a menu described as "Mexican redefined," featuring dishes crafted by renowned international chefs and mixologists.
The quick recovery post-fire is a testament to the efficiency and resilience of the restaurant's team and the fire department. Flecha Cantina even confirmed their operational status through a post on their official Instagram the following day, inviting patrons to "elevate your vibe" from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Wahlberg's interest in the dining industry doesn't stop at Flecha Cantina. He is also the principal investor in the tequila brand Flecha Azul and a co-owner of the burger chain Wahlburgers, which boasts over 90 locations worldwide. His entrepreneurial spirit continues to thrive, with upcoming projects including films like "The Union" and "Balls Up."
While the fire might have startled fans and patrons, the swift and effective handling of the situation ensured that Flecha Cantina could continue serving its eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary Mexican cuisine without significant interruption. If anything, this incident highlights the community strength and support surrounding Wahlberg's ventures.
