AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande has hinted at a potential shift in her career path, expressing her desire to prioritize acting in the next decade. During an appearance on the "Las Culturistas" podcast, the singer and "Wicked" star revealed that her recent involvement in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical has reignited her passion for acting.
"I'm going to say something so scary, it's going to scare the absolute shit out of my fans and everyone," Grande said. "I love acting; I love musical theater. Reconnecting with this part of myself who started in musical theater, and who loves comedy, has been healing for me."
Prior to her successful pop music career, Grande starred in Broadway's "13" and the Nickelodeon series "Victorious" and "Sam & Cat." However, her six album releases over a seven-year span made it difficult to balance acting commitments.
Grande's recent album, "eternal sunshine," released in March 2024, represents a four-year gap between albums. She has also suggested that such hiatuses may become more common in the future.
"I don't think doing music at the rate I've been doing it for the past 10 years is where I see the next 10 years," she said. "I'm always going to make music, I'm always going to go on stage, but I don't think I'll be doing it at the same pace."
Despite her focus on acting, Grande assured fans that she will continue to make pop music and perform. "I pinky promise," she said. "I think it's just a matter of finding a balance that works for me."
Grande's upcoming film, "Wicked," premieres on November 22nd and also stars Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, and Michelle Yeoh.
