AceShowbiz - Fans of "Dancing with the Stars" were left baffled on Tuesday night, October 29 after judge Carrie Ann Inaba gave a 9 to Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong for their Viennese Waltz, despite glowing reviews from fellow judges Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli, who both awarded them 10s. The performance marked Kinney and Armstrong's first two 10s of the competition, but Inaba's lower score raised eyebrows.
Speaking to EW after the show, Kinney expressed frustration over the lack of clarity in Inaba's criticism. "I just want to know exactly what to do in the rehearsal room so I can grow and improve," she said. Brandon Armstrong compared their experience to trick-or-treating, joking that their "bag was just a bit little lighter than it should be."
Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten also received 8s across the board, despite Inaba giving 10s to almost every other couple. They poked fun at their lower scores, but Bersten praised Maher's growth on the show.
Fans took to social media to express their outrage over Inaba's scoring, accusing her of bias against female contestants. One viewer tweeted, "Carrie Ann giving these men who just did lifts and barely any dancing 10s but robs Chandler of her perfect score ... she will always be a woman hater." Another wrote, "CARRIE ANN RUINING THE FIRST PERFECT SCORE OF THE SEASON FOR WHAT."
