AceShowbiz - Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled plans for a new feature film adaptation of their hit series, "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan." John Krasinski will once again embody the intrepid CIA analyst, a role he has portrayed for four seasons on the streaming platform. Wendell Pierce, who played CIA deputy James Greer, is also set to return, with Michael Kelly in talks to reprise his role as Mike November.
Andrew Bernstein, the executive producer and director of Season 2 of the series, will helm the film. The screenplay comes from Aaron Rabin, a co-executive producer and writer on Season 4. John Krasinski and Allyson Seeger will produce through their Sunday Night banner, along with Andrew Form.
The feature film marks an extension of the successful Amazon MGM Studios, Paramount Television, and Skydance collaboration on the original series. The series, which concluded its run with a fourth season, garnered 1.15 billion minutes of viewing.
Jack Ryan was portrayed by the likes of Sean Connery, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine in previous big-screen adaptations.
Following the cessation of the television series, John Krasinski has continued to impress both as an actor and filmmaker. He recently starred in, wrote, produced, and directed the family fantasy "IF" for Paramount Pictures. He has also directed and written the acclaimed "A Quiet Place" franchise, which has spawned multiple installments.
Wendell Pierce has appeared in the hit CBS drama "Elsbeth," based on the character from "The Good Wife" and "The Good Fight." He also stars in the third season of Starz's "Power Book III: Raising Kanan." Michael Kelly is best known for his four-time Emmy-nominated role as Doug Stamper in Netflix's "House of Cards." The "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" feature film will be produced in association with Paramount Pictures and Skydance. Skydance's David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will executive produce alongside John Kelly and Carlton Cuse. The film is scheduled for release in the near future.
