The 49-year-old Oscar-winning actress has reportedly 'grown close' to 21-year-old actor Jason Schmidt, who starred in the Broadway version of her musical 'The Outsiders'.

AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie reportedly has a new "special" person in her life amid Akala dating rumors. The Hollywood star/humanitarian is reported to have "grown close" to a much-younger actor, Jason Schmidt.
A source tells Daily Mail that the 49-year-old actress has formed a "strong bond" with the 21-year-old actor, who is known for his role in the Broadway version of her musical "The Outsiders". The source says the filmmaker "appreciates how talented and keen he is about the arts."
The two recently hung out at Atelier Jolie, her New York City craft shop, where he delivered a private concert where he debuted his new single "Growing Up". He was featured in Atelier Jolie Instagram page.
"Atelier Jolie welcomed Jason Schmidt, known for his role in Broadway's The Outsiders, for an intimate private concert with close friends and family," the account raved about the young actor. "The actor and singer-songwriter debuted his latest single, Growing Up in a heartfelt set that showcased his musical artistry."

Jason also enjoyed his time at the event, saying on his own Instagram page that it was a "beautiful night." The source, however, notes that Angelina and Jason's relationship does not appear to be romantic.
Jason isn't the only guy who has grown close to Angelina lately. She has sparked dating rumors with British rapper Akala after they were spotted together several times. He even supported her at the premiere of her latest movie "Maria" in London earlier this month.
However, a source has insisted that their relationship is purely platonic. The source told PEOPLE that the Oscar winner is simply "close friends with Akala and his partner." In fact, the source claimed that Akala's partner "has also been at every event" Angie and Akala have appeared at in recent days. "They all work together," the source stressed. "Angelina remains focused on her family and is not dating at this time."
