A year after Matthew Perry's passing, his loved ones commemorate his memory, including Jennifer Aniston's heartfelt tribute and the Matthew Perry Foundation's continued mission to help addiction struggles.

AceShowbiz - It's been exactly a year since the world lost Matthew Perry, and the actor's loved ones and fans continue to commemorate his life and legacy. His close friends and co-stars, particularly Jennifer Aniston, along with Perry's family, have shared touching tributes that remind us of the immense impact he had on those around him.

Jennifer Aniston took to Instagram to mark the somber anniversary, posting a series of heartfelt photos with Perry and their "Friends" castmates. Captioning the post with "1 year," she also tagged the Matthew Perry Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to helping those grappling with addiction, an issue Perry was famously open about.

Reflecting on Perry's untimely passing, Aniston shared a poignant message last year, saying, "Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I've never experienced before. We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deep. And we loved him deeply."

Aniston also reminisced about Perry's remarkable sense of humor and his struggle toward recovery. "He really was dealt a tough one. I miss him dearly. We all do. Boy, he made us laugh really hard," she added, hoping people would remember him not just for his role on "Friends" but also for his efforts to help others battling addiction.

While his co-stars conveyed their loss, Perry's family also voiced their grief and reflections. Suzanne Morrison, Perry's mother, shared her thoughts on his final days, revealing, "He said, 'I'm not frightened anymore.' And it worried me." These words echoed in her memory, suggesting a poignant awareness in Perry during his last moments.

Perry's half-sister Caitlin Morrison recalled his vibrant spirit. "He had this ability to fill up a room with light. When people were in a room with him, he had this magnetic energy. Everybody just had a smile on their face and they clung to everything he said," she told Hello magazine.

Perry's death on October 28, 2023, was ruled as being due to the acute effects of ketamine. The fallout from his tragic end saw several individuals, including a drug dealer and Perry's own assistant, being charged in connection with supplying the substance. Perry's mother expressed relief that charges were being pursued, feeling it was a step toward justice.
