AceShowbiz - The "Jumanji" crew is set to embark on another jungle adventure. Sony Pictures has confirmed that "Jumanji 3" will hit theaters on December 11, 2026.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are expected to reprise their roles, along with director Jake Kasdan. Johnson, Kasdan, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Matt Tolmach will produce the film, which will be screened in IMAX and premium large format.
"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" (2017) and its sequel "Jumanji: The Next Level" (2019) were both box office successes, grossing over $950 million and $801 million globally, respectively.
The franchise, originally inspired by Chris Van Allsburg's 1981 children's book and Joe Johnston's 1995 film adaptation starring Robin Williams, follows teenagers trapped inside a video game as adult avatars.
Karen Gillan previously expressed enthusiasm for the third film, acknowledging the challenges in coordinating schedules. Dwayne Johnson has also hinted that "Jumanji 3" could be the potential final installment of this version of the franchise.
According to sources, Jake Kasdan is developing a "very special" concept for the third movie, which is said to be "in the spirit" of the previous films. While plot details remain under wraps, the trilogy is expected to reach its conclusion with "Jumanji 3."
