AceShowbiz - Christina Aguilera, a five-time Grammy winner, recently sat down with English singer-songwriter Raye for an interview in Rolling Stone magazine. During their conversation, Aguilera shared her experiences and regrets as a pop star.
One of her biggest regrets is not feeling comfortable singing barefoot on stage. She praised Raye for her ability to perform shoeless and admitted that she damaged her knees and feet from wearing high heels over the years.
"I've f**ked up my legs and my feet so bad with all this high-heel nonsense," Aguilera confessed. "I f**ked up the cartilage in my knee."
Regarding her musical career, Aguilera reflected on her early success in the late '90s and the pressures she faced from the music industry. "There was a really big pop boom, and it was very specific what a label wanted a pop star to look like, to sound like," she said.
She felt her voice was stifled at times, as she had little creative control. "When my hands feel too bound and I feel like there's no breathing room, that's when I start to suffer," she explained.
Aguilera also acknowledged the challenges of being a female pop star in the early 2000s. She faced body-shaming and criticism for her appearance. However, she has since grown more confident and now embraces her body, saying, "I don't give a f**k other people's opinions of me are not my business."
Despite the challenges, Aguilera remains passionate about music and performing. She has recently released new music and continues to inspire fans with her powerful voice and stage presence.
