AceShowbiz - Jake E. Lee, best known for his electric performances alongside Ozzy Osbourne and currently part of Red Dragon Cartel, is recuperating at home after a harrowing attack during the early morning hours. Lee was walking his dog, Coco, when he encountered a group of masked individuals in his neighbor's driveway, possibly in the midst of a robbery.
Lee provided detailed accounts of the incident on social media platforms, revealing, "Walking home from our walk, Coco and I crossed paths with a couple of thieves. Dressed darkly, hoodies pulled down their faces and masks covering their mouths."
"Standing in a neighbor's driveway checking out his motorcycle. There was a verbal confrontation which ended with an agreement that I would walk one way and they would walk the opposite. That didn't work out."
The Las Vegas Police Department reported responding to the shooting at approximately 2:42 A.M. Initial details were sparse as authorities, along with Lee's representatives, kept information limited due to an ongoing investigation. A spokesperson from Lee's PR firm confirmed that officials believed the shooting to be random and occurred just as the guitarist and his dog were headed out for their walk.
The early morning encounter turned violent, resulting in Lee being shot in the forearm, the back, and the foot. Following his release from the intensive care unit, Lee conveyed his gratitude to the medical staff at Sunrise Hospital for their excellent care.
In a message laden with humility and relief, Lee updated his fans on his condition, noting, "Doing surprisingly well. I am one lucky motherfucker," in a text exchange with fellow rock guitarist D.J. Ashba. Lee also took to his band's Facebook page to thank everyone for their concern and promised to share more about the incident when he felt ready.
Even Ozzy Osbourne, with whom Lee last had contact 37 years ago, expressed his shock and concern over the shooting. Osbourne labeled the event as "just another senseless act of gun violence" in a statement to TMZ.
The incident has sparked considerable attention, leaving fans and fellow musicians in both disbelief and relief over Lee's recovery. As the investigation continues, no arrests have been made, and the details surrounding the motive remain unclear.
