AceShowbiz - Britney Spears is married again, but not to someone as people may think. The pop icon has chosen to marry "herself" amid her controversial relationship with her on-and-off boyfriend Paul Soliz.

The 42-year-old made the declaration via her Instagram account on Sunday, October 20. She posted a bizarre video that saw her rocking a slick white gown in her living room. Channeling a bride, she added a white veil on her head.

In the caption, Britney called the decision "the most brilliant things" she's "ever done." She wrote, "The day I married myself ... Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it's the most brilliant thing I've ever done !!!"

Britney turned off the comments, but her bizarre statement comes as her boyfriend Paul is going through divorce with his estranged wife Nicole Mancilla. Nicole filed for divorce from the former maintenance worker on October 2 after eight years of marriage. They have five kids together.

In her divorce papers, Nicole cites the boilerplate "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split and lists June 29, 2023 as the date of separation. She is seeking legal and physical custody of their children, but is open to Paul getting visitation. She is also seeking spousal support and asks to terminate the court's ability to award support to Paul.

Nicole's mother Sandra Smith has called out Paul, accusing him of being a "deadbeat dad" during an interview on the "Drew Lane Show". "He's a loser," Sandra said of her son-in-law. "He says that I stressed him out because I called him deadbeat dad."

Paul later filed a restraining order request against Nicole's mother Sandra Smith. He accused his mother-in-law of attempting to kidnap his and Nicole's 2-year-old daughter Violet when he went to pick up the children at his ex's home. The request was eventually dismissed.

Sandra additionally claimed that Paul took three of his nine kids to live at Britney's home, despite not paying child support for any of his children. However, a source begged to differ, saying that the 38-year-old ex-convict does not reside with his pop superstar girlfriend despite rumors that he lives with her.
