AceShowbiz - DJ Clark Kent's death, reported by The Source, has been debunked by Questlove, Angie Martinez and others. The Source apologized for the error, explaining it received the information from a family member.
On Wednesday, October 16, The Source reported that DJ Clark Kent passed away due to an unspecified illness, citing information from a family member. However, several hip-hop luminaries took to social media to clarify that Kent was alive and well.
"DJ Clark Kent is STILL with us," Questlove wrote on Instagram. "Quit with the misinformation. It's stressful as it is."
"The article about DJ Clark Kent's passing is false," Angie Martinez wrote on X. "Clark is home with his family. Please refrain from sharing any other false information. It is hurtful, deeply irresponsible, and untrue."
Pete Rock also joined in to condemn the false reports, saying, "Stop traumatizing his family posting that he passed!!"
The Source later retracted the story and apologized, explaining that it was contacted by a family member who provided the false information.
Throughout his career, DJ Clark Kent has produced classic songs for Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., Rakim, Lil' Kim and more. He is also known for his vast sneaker collection.
