Despite recent scandals involving her son, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cheryl Hines stood by his side at the funeral of his mother, Ethel Kennedy, at the Cathedral of St. Matthew in Washington, DC.

AceShowbiz - Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s wife, Cheryl Hines, showed her support for him during his mother's funeral on Wednesday, October 16, amidst rumors of an affair with political reporter Olivia Nuzzi.

Hines, 59, held hands with Kennedy, 70, as they arrived at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, D.C. for the memorial service for Ethel Kennedy, who died at age 96 on October 10.

The celebration of life drew many notable attendees, including President Joe Biden, former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Martin Luther King III, and singers Kenny Chesney, Sting and Stevie Wonder. Kennedy was not listed as a speaker on the program.

Kennedy's alleged relationship with Nuzzi made headlines in September. In court filings, Nuzzi's ex-fiance, Ryan Lizza, claimed that Nuzzi admitted to Kennedy wanting to "control," "possess," and "impregnate" her.

Despite the scandal, Hines has remained by Kennedy's side. On Instagram, she commented on his heartfelt tribute to his mother, writing, "This is beautiful. Your mother was very proud of you."

Kennedy's former presidential campaign correspondent, Nuzzi, had admitted to an "inappropriate personal relationship" with him. New York Magazine, where Nuzzi worked, confirmed that she was placed on leave for failing to disclose the relationship. Nuzzi has denied having a physical relationship with Kennedy.

In late August, Kennedy dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed former President Donald Trump. This decision, along with the sexting scandal, has caused division within his family.
