Prior to the report about him sidestepping prosecution, Rapper Lil Baby was arrested in Las Vegas on Monday for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

AceShowbiz - On August 26, Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil Baby was arrested on the Las Vegas Strip. Police alleged that he was illegally concealing a firearm without a permit. The rapper, whose legal name is Dominique Jones, was booked into Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

Jones had been in Las Vegas to perform at a lavish birthday party for Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden on Sunday. Videos shared on social media show Lil Baby at the party.

Jones has not been formally charged with the crime, which is a felony in Nevada. He was released from custody after posting $5,000 bail. He is due back in court on October 1.

Lil Baby's attorneys stated that he has a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon in Georgia, but not in Nevada. "Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit," said attorneys Drew Findling and David Chesnoff in a statement. "On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas."

According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, CCW permits from Georgia are not recognized in Nevada.

This is not the first time that Lil Baby has faced legal issues. In 2021, he was detained while attending Paris Fashion Week for allegedly "transporting drugs." He was released after paying a fine. In 2019, he was arrested for reckless driving in Atlanta.

In the reckless driving incident, videos shared on social media showed the rapper lying face down on the street while being handcuffed. He was later released on bond.
