Unbeknownst to many, the fitness guru was laid to rest in his iconic tank top and shorts underneath his formal burial clothes, a testament to his enduring commitment to fitness and his vibrant personality.

AceShowbiz - Richard Simmons, the fitness icon who passed away in July at age 76, was buried in a unique outfit that reflected his lifelong dedication to health and fitness. According to his brother, Lenny Simmons, who spoke at the star's celebration of life, Richard was buried in a tank top and shorts, his signature workout attire, beneath his regular clothes.

"Just like Clark Kent underneath his beautiful things that he was wearing, his clothing, [Richard] is wearing a tank top and shorts," Lenny said. "Why, you ask? Because we think that God has another plan for him, and we want to make sure that he was going to be in his normal costume that we all know and love to help the saints and the angels get into shape."

Richard's final days were reportedly marked by a fall and subsequent medical issues. His housekeeper, Teresa Reveles Muro, found him unresponsive on July 12, and he was pronounced dead on the scene. His cause of death was later confirmed as complications from heart disease and recent falls.

Lenny revealed that Richard had been excited about upcoming ventures before his untimely demise. "Don't be sad. Celebrate his life," he urged. "He truly cared about people."

Richard's final interview, conducted just two days before his passing, contained poignant words, "When it's time for us to go, beautiful angels will greet us with a smile and a hello."

The fitness legend's legacy lives on not only through his videos and weight-loss programs but also through his heartwarming message of positivity and joy.
