AceShowbiz - Donald Trump has broken his silence on his wife's clashing stance on abortion rights. The Republican presidential nominee said he's aware of Melania Trump's stance and supported her decision to publicly speak out on a woman's "individual freedom."

The former president told Fox News on Thursday, October 3, "We spoke about it, and I said, 'You have to write what you believe. I'm not going to tell what you to do. You have to write what you believe.' " He claimed, "She is very beloved. People love our former first lady. I can tell you that."

"But I said, 'You have to stick with your heart.' I've said that to everybody, you have to go with your heart," the 78-year-old explained, "There are some people very, very far right on the issue, meaning without exceptions, and then there are other people that view it a little bit differently than that."

Melania passionately defends abortion rights in her upcoming memoir, which is set to be published a month from election day. "It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government," she writes.

The former First Lady adds, "Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body? A woman's fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes."

"Restricting a woman's right to choose whether to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is the same as denying her control over her own body," she emphasizes. "I have carried this belief with me throughout my entire adult life."

The 54-year-old doubles down on her stance in a new video published on Thursday, October 3. In the video, she said, "Individual freedom is a principle that I safeguard. Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth. Individual freedom, what does my body, my choice really mean?"

Melania was trending on Twitter for speaking out on abortion rights.

Melania's stance puts her at odds with her husband Donald, who regularly takes credit for the overturning of Roe v. Wade, which eliminated federal protections for abortion and led to the enactment of severe restrictions on the procedure in mostly Republican-led states.

Kamala Harris definitely is not going to let the Trumps' clashing stance slide. The VP's campaign spokesperson Sarafina Chitika told CNN in a statement on Thursday, "Sadly for the women across America, Mrs. Trump's husband firmly disagrees with her and is the reason that more than one in three American women live under a Trump Abortion Ban that threatens their health, their freedom, and their lives."
