AceShowbiz - Mark Hamill has confirmed his return to the role of Skips the yeti in the highly anticipated revival of Cartoon Network's Regular Show. The announcement was made during a panel at Fan Expo Chicago, where Hamill enthusiastically stated, "There is only one Skips."
Despite his legendary roles as Luke Skywalker and The Joker, Hamill holds the character of Skips in high regard. He expressed his excitement to reunite with his castmate William Salyers, who will also reprise his role as Rigby the raccoon.
The Regular Show revival was first announced in June, with original creator J.G. Quintel returning to oversee the project. While details about the show's format and title remain undisclosed, Hamill's announcement confirms the return of core characters Mordecai (also voiced by Quintel) and Rigby.
This revival is part of Cartoon Network's recent strategy to reboot classic shows. Other upcoming projects include a new season of The Amazing World of Gumball, a reimagined version of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and two spin-off shows set in the Adventure Time universe.
Despite concerns about downsizing, Warner Bros. Discovery remains committed to Cartoon Network's future, promising to deliver a diverse lineup of reboots, new shows, and feature films. The Regular Show revival is a testament to the enduring popularity of this audacious and beloved animated series.
