AceShowbiz - The Weeknd and Playboi Carti decided to do a collaboration once again. After working on "Popular" together with Madonna, the "Blinding Lights" singer and the "All Red" rapper joined forces to create "Timeless".
On Friday, September 27, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, and Carti launched the collaborative song on various music streaming platforms. The Weeknd opens the track with his verse that reads, "You know it's all what you wanted/ And it's all my love/ It's all my love, no/ XO/ Ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah, no."
Carti chimes in, "Ever since I was a jit, knew I was the s**t/ Shorty keep wanna come 'round, she wanna get hit (Wanna get hit so hard)/ She think she the main because I keep her by my side/ Double 0, bust down the watch, she know that I'm timeless (Timeless)/ I put my son in some Rick/ I pull that gun off the hip/ Pockets on twenty-two clips (Ah) I break her heart, Comme Garcons."
The Weeknd adds, "(S**t, uh, yeah)/ Ever since I was a kid, I been legit (Jit, ooh, nah)/ If I was you, I would cut up my wrist (Dumb bit')/ XO tatted all over her body, yeah (Yeah)/ She just wanna roll and I don't mind it, yeah/ Ever since I was jit, I been legit (Ooh, nah, uh)/ You should let her go, she wanna be it (Oh, yeah)/ Double-O tatted on her body, yeah/ It don't matter what they say, I'm timeless, yeah (Schyeah)."
Before releasing the joint track, which is expected to be featured in The Weeknd's upcoming sixth studio album "Hurry Up Tomorrow", the 34-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter and the 29-year-old hip-hop artist debuted the song together. They belted out the track during a surprise duet performance at the former's concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil on September 7.
That same day, The Weeknd and Carti dropped the official lyric video for "Timeless". The 4-minute clip features the two famous figures belting out the track in front of a packed audience at the show in Brazil.
