AceShowbiz - "Dancing with the Stars" viewers were not the only ones shocked by Anna Delvey's shady remarks after her elimination in the Tuesday, September 24 episode. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba admitted that she was taken aback when the con artist claimed she learned "nothing" while being on the show.
Carrie Ann responded to Anna's controversial comment in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday. "I was taken aback by her comment when asked what she learned from being on the show, and she flatly said, 'Nothing,' " the professional dancer said.
"That was dismissive not only of the opportunity she was given, of her wonderful and supportive partner Ezra [Sosa] in his debut season," she continued, "but also of all of us who work on the show - from the dancers to behind the scenes to the creative team."
Carrie Ann suggested that Anna, who competed in season 33 of the long-running show with an ankle bracelet, should be grateful for the opportunity given to her. "We all put in the effort to give her a fair opportunity. But I don't think she could see that and it's a shame," Carrie Ann noted, adding that some "gratitude could have changed the narrative."
As for Anna, the convicted felon doubled down on her statement by reposting the viral moment on Instagram. Her pro partner Ezra Sosa, on the other hand, said that he expected "nothing less" from her when he was asked about Anna's shocking statement. The 22-year-old added, "I knew she was going to say something very iconic and something very Anna Delvey with her exit."
Anna's casting on "Dancing with the Stars" sparked controversy among both fans and pro dancers. Among the critics was Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who said on "The TMZ Podcast" on Monday, September 23, "There's so many other people you could choose from. I don't buy this 'she was nervous stuff.' She was a s**tty dancer."
Maks also slammed Anna for her "standoffish" personality, saying that it's "not really going to help her in this competition."
