AceShowbiz - Christina Aguilera and fellow songstress Sabrina Carpenter teased a collaboration on TikTok, while Carpenter also joined Aguilera for a live performance as part of Spotify Anniversaries.
On Wednesday, September 18, Sabrina Carpenter and Christina Aguilera hinted at their upcoming collaboration by sharing a clip on TikTok. Carpenter referred to Aguilera as her "mom" in the clip, saying she is "obsessed" with her. Aguilera reposted the video on Instagram with the caption, "I don't think you understand, I'm obsessed."
The collaboration is part of Aguilera's celebration for the 25th anniversary of her eponymous debut album. Carpenter and Machine Gun Kelly will join Aguilera for the special episode of "Spotify Anniversaries," which is scheduled to be released on September 25.
Aguilera expressed her excitement about the anniversary and the opportunity to celebrate the timeless nature of her music. "I've always enjoyed reimagining my songs with different styles and audiences, as well as playing with sounds and arrangements that showcase how all music can be timeless," she said.
Carpenter, who has previously expressed her admiration for Aguilera, said in an interview with Paper Magazine, "I was 11 years old and you couldn't get her name out of my mouth. She's very special to me. Those songs raised me."
Last week, Britney Spears made headlines by shading Carpenter's VMAs performance where she kissed an alien. However, Spears also said she "adores" Carpenter and loves her "to death" in the same Instagram video.
