Anitta and Alejandro Fernandez Rule Billboard's Regional Mexican Charts

Anitta becomes the first Brazilian artist to top any Billboard Regional Mexican chart and Alejandro Fernandez extends his lead among soloists on Regional Mexican Airplay.

AceShowbiz - Alejandro Fernandez and Anitta have teamed up for "La Toxica", which has climbed to the top of Billboard's Regional Mexican Airplay chart dated Sept. 21. With her first appearance at No. 1, Anitta becomes the first Brazilian artist to rule any Billboard Regional Mexican chart.

Since appearing on the chart in July, "La Toxica" has steadily gained radio airplay. It racked up 6.3 million in audience impressions during the Sept. 6-12 tracking week, a 37% increase from the previous week. The song also earned the Greatest Gainer honor.

Fernandez has collaborated with several female artists who sing predominantly in other languages. He has teamed up with Beyonce Knowles, Christina Aguilera and more, achieving success on various Latin charts. With "La Toxica", he now has 10 No. 1s on Regional Mexican Airplay, trailing Christian Nodal (17) and Gerardo Ortiz (13).

Anitta, meanwhile, celebrates her first No. 1 on a Billboard airplay chart in over six years. In 2018, "Machika" topped the overall Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay rankings for one week. With "La Toxica's" success, she also becomes:

"La Toxica" is the fourth single from Fernandez's album "Te Llevo En La Sangre" to crown Regional Mexican Airplay. It adds to his recent success, including a 2024 Latin Grammy nomination for the album.
