The popular 'American Story' franchise on FX is adding a new installment, 'American Love Story', which will recount the captivating tale of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette.

AceShowbiz - Executive producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson have confirmed that "American Love Story" is in development and moving forward at FX. The series, which was first announced in 2021, has secured strong scripts and is currently seeking a release date.

According to Jacobson, the story of Kennedy Jr. and Bessette "resonates right now" and showcases a "representational icon" for younger women. Simpson added that the team is eager to bring their vision to the screen.

Meanwhile, an update on "Studio 54: "American Crime Story" remains uncertain. Simpson explained that the team is constantly brainstorming and assessing various options, but nothing has been officially announced yet.

Despite the delay, there are contenders for a fourth installment of "American Crime Story", but no decision has been finalized. The team is currently focused on the first installment of "American Sports Story", which premieres on FX on September 17th and will tell the tale of Aaron Hernandez.
