Halbert explained how he receives song requests through email and social media, compiles a list, and reviews it with Clarkson. She then chooses a song based on her current emotional connection. The process involves cutting the song down to two minutes, tracking and recording it, creating a music chart, and recording a reference. Clarkson reviews the final product at the end of each day.

Clarkson's passion for music was evident in her rehearsal for Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things." The video, which begins at the 2:41 mark, showcases her raw and emotional a cappella rendition. Clarkson expressed her deep connection to the song, saying, "['Beautiful Things'] is gonna be one of those [songs] I cry at again."
