AceShowbiz - "The Bachelorette" star Jenn Tran is speaking out after her ex Devin Strader shared an Instagram video defending his decision to break up with her. Jenn reacted to the 13-minute video during her appearance on Nick Viall's "The Viall Files".
In the episode shared on Thursday, September 12, Jenn admitted that she hadn't watched the now-deleted video. "He's wasted already six months of my life," Jenn said. "I'm not going to give him another second, let alone 13 minutes. I'm all set."
She later slammed Devin for "invasion of privacy" as he leaked their private texts in the video. "When you get engaged to somebody, when you're dating somebody, your first thought is never, 'Oh my gosh, these texts might actually be blasted for the whole world to see.' That is such an invasion of privacy, so when I heard about this I had so many friends and family texting and calling me about this, I truthfully felt so betrayed, so just disrespected, and honestly just upset and disappointed," she noted.
The physician's assistant, who is set to compete in the forthcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars", further pointed out how her mom could easily find out their drama. "My mom's on the internet, dude, What's up with that?" she remarks. "It was disrespectful, and I don't appreciate it at all."
Jenn additionally insisted that she doesn't have a problem with Devin's decision to share his side of the story. However, she's questioning why the freight company owner had to wait days after the finale. "He had time at 'AFR' to say it," Jenn said. "I don't know about you, but I didn't hear much of anything."
Jenn later declared that she's more than ready to put her pasts behind. "This is the last time I'm talking about this because this is not what I want," she divulged. "I don't need this breakup to be drawn out for six months. I'm done with it, and I'm ready to move on. At this point in my life, the way that he has been behaving and releasing our texts and whatever else that he's doing, shows to me that this not the kind of person that I would ever want to spend the rest of my life with anyways."
"Everything truly happened for a reason. It was a blessing in disguise when it happened, and I'm grateful for it, despite all of this mess," she concluded.
In his video, Devin revealed that he realized while watching the show back that he was not Jenn's first choice, hinting that she was more in love with runner-up Marcus Shoberg. He admitted that it was "hard to go through" those emotions and that he felt his decision to end the relationship was justified after seeing Jenn and Marcus' love story unfold on screen.
Devin also shared alleged text messages between him and Jenn, which he chronicled their relationship from happier times to their breakup and a brief conversation they had after the "After the Final Rose" special. While he's not trying to denounce Jenn, he believes they could both be held accountable for the relationship's failure.
