The 'Boy Meets World' alum shares his regret over a misunderstanding with Justin Timberlake that cost him a potential friendship, blaming his own teenage jealousy.

AceShowbiz - Matthew Lawrence has revealed the unfortunate encounter that ended his chances of befriending Justin Timberlake. The revelation came on the latest episode of the "Pod Meets World" rewatch podcast, where Lawrence shared the details of their first meeting on the set of "Boy Meets World".

Despite being a fan of NSYNC, Lawrence admitted that he was not very nice to Timberlake. Later, when he approached Timberlake to compliment his solo album, "Justified", Timberlake surprised him by accusing him of being unfriendly on set.

Lawrence's former co-stars, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and Will Friedle, initially expressed shock but then speculated that Timberlake's negative impression was due to Lawrence's shyness and crush on Fishel.

Strong recounted how NSYNC's constant presence on set drew Fishel's attention, making them feel like they were losing their "sister." Fishel jokingly added that Lawrence's standoffishness may have been influenced by his jealousy.

While Strong and Friedle commiserated over sharing Fishel's attention with NSYNC, Lawrence expressed regret that he never had the opportunity to explain himself to Timberlake.

However, despite Lawrence's past jealousy, Fishel clarified that Timberlake never pursued her. Instead, she revealed that Timberlake played a role in setting her up with his bandmate, Lance Bass.

In a previous episode of the podcast, Bass shared details of their almost-missed meet-cute. He failed to get Fishel's number initially, but Timberlake intervened and asked for it on his behalf. Bass called Fishel a few days later, with Timberlake providing enthusiastic encouragement in the background.
