AceShowbiz - JC Chasez, known for his time as a member of NSYNC, is venturing into the realm of musical theater with a concept album titled "Playing With Fire". Collaborating with Golden Globe-winning songwriter and composer Jimmy Harry, Chasez has created a 16-track project inspired by Mary Shelley's classic novel "Frankenstein".

The album seamlessly blends electronic pop with classical romantic era music, offering a fresh take on the centuries-old story. Chasez's interest in musical theater was sparked after Harry introduced him to a theatrical adaptation of Frankenstein written by his late mother, Barbara Field.

Working together, Chasez and Harry have crafted an album that explores the complex relationship between Frankenstein and his creation, "The Creature". Through musical conversation and flashbacks, they gain a deeper understanding of each other's motivations and actions, eventually finding sympathy, love, and forgiveness.

In addition to co-writing the album, Chasez also contributes his vocals alongside singers Cardamon Rozzi and Lily Elise. "Playing With Fire" marks his first major musical project since his 2004 solo album, "Schizophrenic".

Chasez explains the unique challenges and rewards of writing for musical theater, "When you're writing a pop hit, you focus on expressing your present emotions. But when you're working on a musical, there's a broader narrative and the story drives the music."

"This is the final frontier for me," he adds. "I've been in television, music, and film, and now I want to experience all aspects of entertainment."

"Playing With Fire" is set for release on October 25th via Center Stage Records. The tracklist includes "This Is How the World Ends" and "How Do You Sleep".
