On their "paper anniversary," where couples traditionally exchange presents made of paper, King decided to gift Piet a unique piece of history.
"I found the newspaper one year from the day my husband was born," King revealed to E! News. "It's super cool." Despite the newspaper having a "really weird" headline, King said it perfectly captures their quirky sense of humor. "I read it and I was like, 'Oh, that's funny,' " she shared. "It's a cool thing."
King and Piet tied the knot in September 2023 during an intimate ceremony in Mallorca, Spain. They had previously met while working on the 2019 limited series "The Act", where King played Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Piet directed two episodes.
To commemorate their legal wedding anniversary, which took place two weeks before their official ceremony in Spain, King and Piet went bowling once again. King shared pictures from their original bowling outing on Instagram Stories, along with a heartfelt caption, "1 year ago we signed our papers that made us legally husband and wife and then we went bowling. And then today, one year later, we went bowling. With our matching bowling socks of course, courtesy of my mom. Happy 'not' anniversary Stevie."
King has expressed her contentment in her marriage with Piet, saying in an interview with PEOPLE, "Everything's just a little bit sweeter now. It's just fun to feel like you are truly hanging out with your best friend every day. It's a very special feeling."
