AceShowbiz - Joey King's kitchen adventures have taken an unfortunate turn. The "Kissing Booth" actress revealed on Instagram that she recently burned herself while cooking, leaving blisters on her face and neck.

In a series of selfies, King showed the extent of her injuries, including closeup shots of the affected areas. "I burned myself a few days ago by throwing shallots into a pan of hot oil," King wrote. Her mother's humorous response to the incident was, "See that's why I hate cooking."

Despite her kitchen mishap, King remains upbeat. However, she has also been candid about her challenges with perioral dermatitis, a skin condition that causes small red bumps around the eyes, nose, or mouth.

In July 2024, King shared her skincare routine and her efforts to manage the condition. "I'm trying to stop my prescription stuff to make it go away on its own," she said. "I just stopped it like a week ago... it's like coming back. And I have literally no idea what to do about it."

Despite her skin struggles, King recently debuted a bolder look, dyeing her eyebrows for a magazine party. While her friends praised the new look, her mother expressed disapproval. "I can't look at you," she said. "You look so weird."

King has since returned to her natural eyebrow color. She has also abandoned her cooking experiment, emphasizing the importance of proper kitchen safety.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, first-degree burns can cause pain and scarring if not treated properly. King's injuries appear to be first-degree burns, and she is following recommended treatment methods, including applying cool water, petroleum jelly, and protecting the burns from sun exposure.
