AceShowbiz - Katie Holmes appeared to be having fun despite being an empty nester. The actress portraying Joey Potter on "Dawson's Creek" beamed with happiness during another nice phone call, most likely with her daughter Suri.
On Wednesday, August 28, the 45-year-old actress was out and about in New York City. In a series of pictures that made their rounds online, it could be seen that she was strolling around the Big Apple alone. Though so, she apparently enjoyed walking on the side of a street.
Looking in good spirits, Katie was smiling from ear-to-ear while talking over the phone, seemingly with Suri who is currently studying at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She flashed her radiant big smile as she held her smartphone in her hand, pressing it on her ear.
For the relaxing stroll around the city on a sunny day, Katie, who ditched her accessories and makeup, opted to wear a casual outfit. She donned a long-sleeved white shirt, which came with a V-neck design, and a pair of dark blue denim pants that were long enough to reach her ankles.
"The Secret: Dare to Dream" actress, whose long brown hair cascaded down her back, completed the look with a pair of black flat shoes. She kept her belongings in a brown leather bag, which she carried on her shoulder. In addition, she covered her eyes with a pair of matching shades.
This was not the first time Katie was spotted talking over the phone in public. On Monday, August 26, she was photographed looking excited while explaining something along with her hand gesture to the person on the phone, who appeared to be Suri. At that time, she was on a solo stroll around Brooklyn, New York.
Earlier in August, Katie helped Suri move into her dorm before she started college. The actress and her 18-year-old daughter, whom she shares with actor Tom Cruise, were seen arriving at Carnegie Mellon University while carrying a huge bag and two suitcases.
