AceShowbiz - Former "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-stars Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green reflected on their decades-long estrangement, which they attributed to their relationships with other people at the time.
On the latest episode of Green's "Oldish" podcast, the former couple and Randy Spelling, Tori's brother, revisited their rift after the show wrapped. Spelling shared that her relationship with fellow co-star Vincent Young contributed to the estrangement.
"I lost myself in that relationship, as I had done previously in relationships," she explained, noting that she became engrossed in Young's company, leading her to distance herself from Green.
Green, however, noted that he made efforts to maintain their friendship. "I still showed up," he said. "I had come to terms with knowing that [Young's relationship with Spelling] wasn't a good one, but you're my sister."
Green also recalled visiting Spelling's house after filming ended, but his attempts to reconnect were met with indifference. "It got to the point where I just never got that from you," he said.
Spelling attributed the falling out not only to her relationship with Young but also to Green's relationship with Vanessa Marcil at the time. "To see how your friend is treated and not feel okay with it, but knowing that you can't really say anything because the person has to go through their own experience and journey," she explained.
Despite the challenges, Spelling never stopped thinking about Green. "My process was different, and I would shy away from those that would really fight for me," she said. "I never stopped wanting to reach out and reconnect."
In 2018, the pair reunited when they played heightened versions of themselves in the six-episode continuation "BH90210". They have since rekindled their friendship and are scheduled to attend several upcoming conventions with their former castmates.
