Lily Allen's Returned Dog's Condition Is Revealed Amid Backlash

The 'Somewhere Only We Know' singer recently faced huge backlash and even got death threats after she admitted to returning her dog Mary to an animal shelter.

AceShowbiz - Lily Allen has been in the center of controversy after she admitted that she returned her pet to an animal shelter. A new report has now revealed the condition of the said puppy, whom Lily claimed ate her and her children's passports and visas.

According to TMZ, Lily's dog Mary is doing just fine. Animal Haven NYC said that the black labrador found its happy ending after the singer returned the pup to the rescue just months after her May 2021 adoption.

Returning dog to animal shelter isn't an entirely something new. Executive Director of Animal Haven, Tiffany Lacey, additionally explained that it is their policy to take back animals if an adoption doesn't work out.

The update came after Lily shared that she had been receiving death threats and "disgusting comments" over her decition to to return Mary to the shelter for behaving badly. In her lengthy social media message, she asked people to "please stop acting on clickbait articles when you haven't done your due diligence."

Near the end of the lengthy message, she called out PETA, an American animal rights organization, writing, "Also thank you to @peta for adding fuel to the fire. very responsible of you."

In the August 22 episode of her "Miss Me?" podcast, Lily shared, "We actually did adopt a dog together already," referring to her and husband David Harbour. She explained that the dog destroyed all three of their passports, adding, "It was in COVID, so it was just an absolute logistical nightmare."

Due to the incident, Lily had to postpone her daughters trip to see their father, Sam Cooper, who lives in England, for several months. "The father of my children lives in England. I couldn't get them back to see their dad for, like, four months [or] five months because this f**king dog had eaten the passports."

"The passports weren't the only thing she ate," she continued, suggesting that the passport incident was the last straw. "She was a very badly behaved dog."
