Nipsey was fatally shot outside of his clothing store in Los Angeles in March 2019 and in February last year, his killer Eric Holder Jr. was sentenced to 60 years in prison.

AceShowbiz - Rick Ross was honoring Nipsey Hussle on what would have been his 39th birthday. When paying tribute to his late pal, the "Purple Lamborghini" rapper encouraged fans to stream Nipsey's 2010 mixtape "The Marathon".

The 48-year-old made his plea on Thursday, August 15. Prior to that, the emcee said in a video posted on Instagram Story, "Today my boy Nipsey Hussle would have been 39 years old. The marathon continues."

"Salute to Blacc Sam, the whole TMC family, the squad," he continued, giving a shout out to Nipsey's brother and business partner. "It's not many people who woulda held that empire up and made sure it elevated the way it has."

"I'm sure Nip, he's smiling. He was a legend, he was way advanced, way too advanced for lame n***as, slow n***as," Rozay further noted. "That boy was on some other s**t, 10 years ago. So you know what it is, man."

Nipsey was fatally shot outside of his clothing store in Los Angeles in March 2019. He passed away from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso.

On February 22, 2023, his killer Eric Holder Jr. was sentenced to 60 years in prison. The Crips gang member, who was found guilty of first-degree murder, one count of possession of a firearm and two charges of attempted voluntary manslaughter in July 2022, was given 25 years to life for killing Nipsey, plus an additional 25 years to life sentencing enhancement because he had used a gun.

Eric was also sentenced to an additional 10 years in prison for shooting 56-year-old Kerry Latham and Sharmi Villnueva, 44, during the fatal attack on the rapper. Branding the musician's killing "premeditated and deliberate" murder, prosecutor John McKinney added he had been "shot from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head." He said the attack was launched after the rapper accusing fellow gang-member Holder of being a "snitch."
