AceShowbiz - In a new commercial for their latest film, "The Instigators", Matt Damon and Casey Affleck staged a comedic "heist" in a Boston Dunkin'. The commercial follows the duo as they attempt to rob the cashier, with Affleck threateningly pointing his paper bag-covered hand and declaring, "We got good news and bad news. The good news is your shift's over. The bad news is you're being robbed."
However, their clever ruse is quickly foiled by the sharp-witted cashier, who points out, "I can see your hand, Einstein. Two instigators here, huh?"
Undeterred, Damon and Affleck reluctantly order a Boston Kreme, a strawberry frosty and a "large regulah" coffee. They also ask to use their own paper bags for the order, stating that it's "better for the environment."
The commercial highlights the duo's close connection to Boston and the sense of humor that is prevalent in the city. Damon and Affleck expressed their appreciation for their hometown, with Damon noting, "The sense of humor and the way that people just tend to look at the world back here... it can feel abrasive to people who aren't from here. But when you're from here, it feels like, you know, a comfortable pair of socks."
"The Instigators" is a comedy-drama that features Damon and Affleck as an unlikely pair attempting to pull off a heist on a corrupt Boston politician. It was produced by the duo's production company, Artists Equity, and co-written by Casey Affleck and Chuck Maclean. The film was directed by Doug Liman.
"The Instigators" had a limited run in theaters before moving to Apple TV+ streaming last week.
