Check out the first sneak peek at Travis Kelce as the football star is trading the gridiron for the small screen in Ryan Murphy's latest horror series, 'Grotesquerie', set to premiere later this month.

AceShowbiz - Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce is making his acting debut in "Grotesquerie", a new series directed by Ryan Murphy, known for his Emmy-winning work on popular titles like "American Horror Story" and "Feud". FX released the first official teaser on August 15, offering only a fleeting glimpse of Kelce's character, piquing the interest of both sports fans and TV enthusiasts alike.

The show revolves around Detective Lois Tryon, portrayed by Niecy Nash-Betts, who investigates a string of heinous crimes in a small, eerie town. As Nash-Betts says in the teaser, "It's like a hole opened up in the world to the center of nothingness."

She teams up with a nun, played by Micaela Diamond, to solve these grotesque murders, leading to a dark and unsettling journey filled with cryptic messages and demonic paraphernalia.

Kelce only appears briefly in the one-minute teaser, his role has yet to be fully revealed. Despite this, he has expressed much excitement and nervousness about this new venture. "Right now, I'm just taking it scene by scene and trying to make sure that I remember my lines," Kelce mentioned on his podcast, "New Heights". "I'm very amateur at this."

His co-star, Nash-Betts, shared her thoughts with Entertainment Tonight, "You know what, I'm pleasantly surprised. He's doing really well." This prominent endorsement adds to the anticipation surrounding Kelce's performance in the series.

"Grotesquerie" boasts a stellar cast that includes Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Raven Goodwin, further bolstering its credentials. Created by Murphy along with Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, the series is scheduled to launch on FX on September 25 and will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day.

Kelce's shift from football to acting signifies a considerable career milestone, showing his versatility beyond sports. As he mentioned, he's "blown away" by the opportunity to work with a legendary creator like Murphy and is determined to make the most of this unique experience. Only time will tell how well Kelce can transition from the football field to the enigmatic and haunting world of "Grotesquerie", but the buzz is already building.
