AceShowbiz - The highly anticipated film adaptation of the beloved musical "Wicked" has released a new teaser trailer, offering fans their first in-depth look at "Bridgerton" star Jonathan Bailey as the dashing, self-professed 'genuinely self-absorbed and deeply shallow' Fiyero.

Universal Pictures unveils this exclusive glimpse, featuring a newspaper announcing Fiyero's arrival at Shiz University. Glinda (Ariana Grande), in her iconic pink dress, prepares to impress the newcomer with her swanky look. Fiyero's presence shakes up the campus, upsetting Pfannee (Bowen Yang). He declares his intention to "corrupt his fellow students."

The teaser offers a glimpse of a musical number and a shot of Fiyero effortlessly climbing the stacks of the Shiz library. Costume designer's attention to detail and director Jon M. Chu's camera angles showcase Fiyero's stylish attire.

At the Oz Dust ballroom, now an underground club inspired by Gregory Maguire's novel, Fiyero and others dance the night away. However, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) confronts Fiyero, calling out his facade of shallowness. He retorts with a self-aware, "Excuse me, there's no pretense here. I happen to be genuinely self-absorbed and deeply shallow."

"Wicked", a prequel to "The Wizard of Oz", explores the "true story" of Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) during her school days, where she meets popular girl Glinda. Their journey from roommates to friends to political enemies unfolds as the Wizard vilifies Elphaba and elevates Glinda. Both women fall for Fiyero, igniting their rivalry.

Based on the Tony-winning Broadway musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, "Wicked" is adapted for the screen by its original creators. Marc Platt, the Broadway producer, is involved in this film version.

Divided into two parts, "Wicked" reflects the musical's depth and complexity. "Part 1" hits theaters on November 22.
