AceShowbiz - At the 2024 Summer Olympics closing ceremony on August 11, Billie Eilish, the 22-year-old singer, brought her distinct grunge style to the stage. Dressed in an oversized white Ralph Lauren polo adorned with the American flag colors, a navy baseball cap, baggy shorts and large boots, she performed "Birds of a Feather" from her latest album, "Hit Me Hard and Soft".
Her performance was joined by her brother and collaborator FINNEAS, who sported a Ralph Lauren Team USA blazer. The Venice beach party concert also featured sets from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg, who has become an unofficial mascot of the Games due to his coverage with NBC.
Eilish, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg all share strong ties to Los Angeles: Eilish was born there, the Red Hot Chili Peppers were formed there and Snoop Dogg hails from nearby Long Beach. The event was coordinated by Ben Winston, who has produced the Grammy Awards, and French producers.
Earlier this year, Eilish released "Hit Me Hard and Soft", her third studio album. She has also collaborated with British musician Charli XCX on a remix of her song "Guess", released on August 1st.
The Olympics opening ceremony on July 26th was equally star-studded, featuring performances from Lady GaGa and Celine Dion. Gaga, 38, sang "Mon Truc et Plumes" while Dion, 56, performed a moving rendition of "Hymne a L'amour" from the Eiffel Tower, marking her first performance since revealing her stiff-person diagnosis in December 2022.
