AceShowbiz - Britney Spears has caught wind of Blake Lively's outfit at the "It Ends With Us" premiere. After the actress recreated her iconic look by wearing her 2002 vintage Versace gown, the "Toxic" hitmaker took to social media to give her reaction.
On Saturday, August 10, the 42-year-old shared on Instagram a video of her modeling an "updated version" of the dress, which she said she likes "way better" than the original because it "shows [her] legs."
In the clip, which was set to the Outfield's "Your Love", the sparkling, colorful dress looked much shorter than the original one. It featured skinny shoulder straps and side cutouts.
Of recycling Britney's dress, which featured an asymmetrical neckline and was covered in sparkles, Blake told PEOPLE earlier this month, "It should be in the Smithsonian or the Met, but it's on me." She further gushed, "I feel so lucky!"
Blake's red carpet look was a nod to her character and a tribute to Britney. It also featured accessories that matched the colors of the dress, including rings from Lorraine Schwartz's fine jewelry line and a pair of dangle drop earrings. Her glam also played into the gown's colors, with soft pink eyeshadow and matte lipstick.
In a conversation with Extra TV, Blake explained why Britney meant so much to her. "She represented love and beauty and youth and hard work and determination and strength. And she was in touch with her sexuality and her delicacy, and she just sort of represented it all," she said.
In July, Blake paid homage to the Princess of Pop's iconic denim look from the 2001 American Music Awards. When stepping out in New York City, the mom of four rocked a rhinestone-embellished Self-Portrait denim minidress and a denim Dries Van Noten trench coat. She accessorized with a denim Chanel bag, Gucci heels, and Storrow Jewelry necklaces and charms.
"You say Canadian Prom Dress, I say It's Britney B***h," Blake captioned photos of her outfit on Instagram. She also gave a shout-out to the photographer, "@thestewartofny," who she respects for leaving her children alone.
