When opening up about City Girls' split in a new interview, JT also explains why 'it just made so much sense' for her and her former collaborator to part ways.

AceShowbiz - JT has no hard feelings toward Yung Miami despite parting ways with City Girls. During a sit-down with Complex on Friday, August 9, the "OKAY" spitter explained it "made sense for the both of [them]" to part ways.

"I think it made sense for both of us. I really feel like it just made sense for us and it was no hard feelings," the 31-year-old explained. "I'm like Tina Turner, I'm still a City Girl. I need my name. That's the biggest thing about me, I can't ever get away from being a City Girl."

"A person [is] going to call me that no matter where I'm at. It is just like 'JT from the City Girls,' " she stressed. "But I feel like it just made so much sense for both of us in the direction that we was going and things that we were focusing on. It wasn't no hard feelings about it. We saw it coming."

As for Miami, she shared her side of the story during Thursday's airing of "Caresha Please". She said, "I'm the type of person where if we feel some type of way, we can hash this s**t out behind closed doors."

"You can call my phone. We can text each other," the raptress, born Caresha Romeka Brownlee, added. "We can cuss each other out, but I feel like once it goes to the internet, you [are] trying to get people to pick a side."

The tension between Miami and JT had been brewing for a while and even made headlines in April when the two had a public dispute on X (formerly Twitter). During the heated exchange, Miami accused JT of "sneak dissing" in her solo tracks "No Bars" and "Sideways." JT responded, defending herself and expressing her support for Miami despite the apparent misunderstandings. They later reconciled, tweeting affectionate messages to each other.

Although their issues seemed to have been resolved, the duo ultimately acknowledged that their dynamic as City Girls wasn't clicking as it used to. "It just wasn't working no more. So I think we both was at a point where we was just like, we should probably just do our own s**t," Miami confessed.

City Girls made a striking entry into the music scene with their 2018 mixtape "Period". It was followed by the debut album "Girl Code" in the same year, and 2020's "City on Lock."
