AceShowbiz - Drake fans can now listen to his new music on a streaming service. After being hit with a copyright violation claim from Universal Music Group for dropping "100 gigs" songs on Instagram, the Canadian emcee made the tracks available on Apple Music.
The copyright violation warning was revealed by Drizzy's recently-unveiled burner Instagram account @plottttwistttttt. On Thursday, August 8, the page posted a screenshot of the notification.
According to the picture, UMG was identified as the plaintiff. Still, it remains unknown which of Drake's newly released songs caused the violation of the platform's copyright agreement.
@plottttwistttttt first shared "Housekeeping Knows" ft. Latto (Mulatto), "Blue Green Red" as well as "It's Up" co-starring 21 Savage and Young Thug, on Instagram on Tuesday. Now fans can find the three songs on Apple Music.
The collaboration with 21 Savage and Thugger didn't come as a surprise though. Drizzy previously teamed up with the British-American emcee for "Her Loss" album. Meanwhile, he's been vocal with his support for Thugger, who has been behind bars for the RICO case since May 2022.
On "It's Up", Drake spits, "I can't sleep at night with Thug at Cobb County Corrections." The Grammy-winning emcee continues, "I think he did enough reflectin', I think my brother learned his lesson."
Drake, who has been staying lowkey since his feud with Kendrick Lamar, has made several guest appearances in these past months. In June, he teamed up with Snowd4y for "Wah Gwan Delilah", a parody of Plain White T's 2006 hit "Hey There Delilah." Later that month, he was featured on Camila Cabello's two new songs, "HOT UPTOWN" and "Uuugly".
