The 'Maggie May' singer has canceled his 200th Las Vegas residency show due to strep throat but promises to his fans that he will return next year for an encore.

AceShowbiz - Legendary singer Rod Stewart has canceled his 200th show of his Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace due to strep throat. The concert was set to mark the end of Stewart's 13-year residency at the iconic venue.

Stewart apologized to his fans for the cancellation, saying, "Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long." He added that he will return to the stage in 2025 and hopes to see all his fans there.

Despite the cancellation, Stewart announced that he will be back for an encore in 2025. He will perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from March 12-22 and May 29-June 8. Tickets for the shows will go on sale on Monday, August 12, at 10 A.M. PT.

In a statement, Stewart said, "Vegas, I'm having too much fun for this to end so we are coming back for an encore!" He added, "Water has a hell of a lot to do with it," referring to the importance of hydration for vocal health.

Stewart began his Las Vegas residency in 2011. While he acknowledges his age and the changes in his lifestyle, he remains committed to performing live. He believes he has "another 15" years left in him and continues to prioritize taking care of his voice.

Despite canceling his 200th show, Stewart's encore announcement shows that he is far from retiring. Fans can look forward to seeing him back on stage in Las Vegas next year.
