AceShowbiz - Ahead of its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, "Wolfs" has been given a green light for a sequel. Director Jon Watts has signed a deal with Apple to pen and helm the follow-up, featuring Brad Pitt and George Clooney as "Lone Wolves" who reluctantly team up for a dangerous job.

Negotiations are still underway for Clooney and Pitt to reprise their roles. Alongside the sequel announcement, Apple revealed that "Wolfs" will debut in theaters for a limited run on September 20, followed by an Apple TV+ release on September 27. This change from its previously planned wide release aligns with Apple's new distribution strategy.

In addition to Clooney and Pitt, the "Wolfs" cast includes Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind and Zlatko Buric. Jon Watts and Dianne McGunigle join Clooney, Grant Heslov, Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner as producers, with Michael Beugg serving as executive producer.

Apple continues to invest in high-profile content, as evidenced by Pitt's upcoming appearance in the Apple TV+ title "F1", directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Other recent and upcoming Apple titles include "The Instigators" starring Matt Damon, directed by Doug Liman, and "Blitz", a WWII drama directed by Steve McQueen.
